Scientific Programmer

The MPI for Intelligent Systems in Tübingen headed by Prof. Michael Black is looking for several highly talented programmers with strong technical knowledge of computer vision and/or graphics to support basic research projects in the area of computer vision.  You will work with leading researchers on cutting-edge problems such as segmentation, optimization, statistical image modeling, motion estimation, large-scale 3D reconstruction, data representation and human shape modeling, estimation and animation. In addition to vision research programmers, we seek experienced graphics programmers with experience with 3D mesh modeling, rigging, blend skinning, hair models, clothing simulation, and animation from motion capture are all valuable.  Experience with Internet applications of vision and graphics is a plus.  Strong mathematical skills are important. We seek highly motivated people interested in working in a challenging research environment who also want to have an impact on the world by having their code in wide use!

You posess a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in computer science (or a related field), with a focus on computer vision. A solid mathematical background and profound programming (C++, Python) and computer (Linux, Windows) skills are required. You are highly flexible, diligent, enthusiastic and reliable. You share our passion for teaching computers how to see.
